ABSTRACT (Figure 1) The device for feeding sheets (F) of wrapping material to packaging machines comprises a feeding group (11, 12, 26, 27) operating intermittently, driven by independent electric motors (24, 28) controlled in synchronism with the operating frequency of the packaging machine by a programmable electronic control circuit (40 - - 53). The sheets (F) are individually cut the one after the other from a continuous web (N) unreeled from a roll (B) which is driven into rotation by an electric motor. The web forms a buffer loop (A) and passes through a pair of intermittent-feeding rollers (119 12) from which it is fed to a cutter (26, 27) of the rotary alternating type. Both the intermittent-feeding rollers (11, 12) and the cutter (26, 27) are driven by separate independent electric stepping motors (24, 28). The programmable electronic control circuit (40 - 53) establishes for each single motor a determined law of motion, variable at will.
