A b s t r a c t The invention concerns a device for filling ditches, comprising at least: A vehicle with a driver's cab or a trailer with a detachable tractor for transporting a container for the fill material, as well as a discharger to which the fill material is fed via a feed unit located in the container, whereby the discharge is mounted in the area of the vehicle or trailer between the driver's cab and container, or tractor and container, and aligned essentially diagonally to the vehicle axle so that the fill material is discharged on a side of the vehicle or trailer which is within the field of vision of a person in the driver's cab or tractor.
