The invention relates to a device for filtering lubricating oil during the operation of a mechanical valve drive of an internal combustion engine, especially for motor vehicles, comprising at least one transmitting component which is effective between gas exchange valves and their periodic drive and which is supplied with lubricating oil. Said device comprises a filter element (16), associated with the component, the surface of which is configured as an oil-permeable structure, thereby preventing the component from being contaminated with particles.
