ABSTRACT The device comprises a belt conveyor (8) located after a delivery station (1) of a folder-gluer, a counting device (11) cooperating with a shiftable stop (12) shifting on one hand horizontally along two longitudinal bars (30 and 31) and on the other hand vertically in ball bearings (22 and 23) positioned in a crossbar (24). The horizontal and vertical shiftings depend on the number of flat objects detected by the counting device (11). The belt conveyor (8 is driven linearly by the roll (9) in order to be accelerated when the separation occurs, that is when the wanted number of flat. objects is reached. The device is used for the separation of batches of folded boxes arranged one on top the other at the output of a processing machine.
