A device for generating a characteristic time, which is built in a computer as shown in the figure by way of example. The computer includes a CPU (1), a memory (2) and an input/output device (3). The CPU (1) is provided with clock (4) and a counter (5). The memory (2) includes a section (6) for storing a period of elapsed time and a section (7) for updating a period of elapsed time. The section (6) for storing a period of elapsed time stores the total amount of time to be counted, for example, 3,155,692,500.97 sec (in 1/100 sec steps) corresponding to 100 years, as a total time Tt. The clock (4) is associated with a section for constantly counting the total time Tt, and the counter (5) calculates the cumulative time Tn from 0 to the total time Tt and the differential time (Tt - Tn) required to count down from the total time Tt to 0, thereby constantly counting elapsed time. The elapsed time counted by the device for generating a characteristic time can be outputted to another computer by the input/output device (3), whereas the elapsed time counted by another computer can also be inputted by the input/output device (3).
Cette invention concerne un dispositif de génération de durée caractéristique, lequel est intégré à un ordinateur comme le montre la figure, par exemple. Cet ordinateur comprend une UC (1), une mémoire (2) ainsi qu'un dispositif d'entrée/sortie, l'UC (1) comprenant une horloge (4) et un compteur (5). La mémoire (2) comprend une section (6) de stockage d'une période de temps écoulé, ainsi qu'une section (7) de remise à jour d'une période de temps écoulé. La section (6) de stockage de temps écoulé enregistre la quantité totale de temps devant être comptée, par exemple, 3.155.692.500,97 secondes (par étapes de 1/100 sec), soit 100 ans, laquelle quantité est appelée temps total Tt. L'horloge (4) est associée à une section de comptage constant du temps total Tt, tandis que le compteur (5) calcule le temps cumulatif Tn allant de 0 au temps total Tt, ainsi que le temps différentiel (Tt - Tn) nécessaire au décompte depuis le temps total Tt jusqu'à 0, permettant ainsi de compter constamment le temps écoulé. Le temps écoulé compté par le dispositif de génération d'une durée caractéristique peut être envoyé vers un autre ordinateur par le dispositif d'entrée/sortie (3), tandis que le temps écoulé compté par un autre ordinateur peut également être entré à l'aide de ce même dispositif d'entrée/sortie (3).
