For guiding webs of paper or cardboard, a guide cylinder extending across half of the web grips onto the surface of the web and achieves moving corrections on the webs by rotation or swinging. The long, linear support zone of the guide cylinder causes a high mechanical stress, whereby the guide cylinder exerts almost no corrective effect in its center zone. By dividing the guide cylinder into at least two spaced-apart, parallel guide rolls having their axes disposed perpendicular to the running direction of the material web, a suitable larger effective area is obtained for correction of the direction of movement.
Pour guider des bandes continues de papier ou de carton, un cylindre de guidage s'étendant sur la moitié de la bande se met en prise sur la surface de la bande et effectue des corrections de déplacement sur les bandes par rotation ou pivotement. La longue zone d'appui linéaire du cylindre de guidage exerce une forte contrainte mécanique, mais l'effet correcteur du cylindre de guidage dans sa zone centrale est pratiquement nulle. En divisant le cylindre de guidage en au moins deux rouleaux de guidage parallèles espacés ayant leur axe perpendiculaire au sens d'avancement de la bande de matériau, on obtient une plus grande zone effective permettant de corriger la direction du déplacement.
