ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device for halving fruit, especially citrus fruits from which the juice is to be extracted comprises a holder and a cutting edge, the cutting edge being so arranged in the holder that it can penetrate into the piece of fruit to be halved at least to half the diameter of the fruit. The piece of fruit may be held during the entire halving process with both hands without changing hands. The holder has a juice-collecting chamber for juice escaping during the halving process, and includes a pouring lip and handle. The holder has a support for the fruit halves, on which these may remain in the position assumed directly after the halving process.
