ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The bale supporting rods of a device for handling large round bales are integral with a rigid frame comprised of a row of inverted U-shaped frame elements. The rods are fixedly secured to the lowermost ends of arms of the U-shaped elements by transversely downwardly inclined rods or the like, whereby an improved clearance above the ground is provided for the parts of the frame adjacent to the bale supporting rods. The degree of allowed selective raising of the frame is in- creased by use of a trailing arm wheel suspension which enables the raising to substantial degree without changing the structural strength of the overall assembly at the ground wheels. The side- wise alignment or offsetting of the front end of the device relative to the towing vehicle is removely controlled.
