1. A device for locking a cable shoe in a connector housing. 2.1 It is known that in order to prevent the cable shoe from being moved or pulled out of the connector housing, detent tabs that are formed on the cable shoe can be so deformed by means of a rotary tool that they snap behind projections in the connector housing. However, the known rotary tools entail the disadvantage that the cannot stand up to lengthy periods of use and are relatively susceptible to failure. For this reason, it is the task of the present invention to ensure a significantly longer service life for the rotary tool. 2.2 To this end, provision has been made in that the rotary tool (4) incorporates a plurality of grooves (42) or splines, shaped like a drill, that are spaced about its periphery, and connected to a female section that is matched to them and secured so that it is unable to rotate. 2.3 Because of this, when axial movement is converted into a rotary movement of the rotary tool, there is only very slight face pressure on the grooves or splines, which greatly minimizes wear to these parts. 3. Figure 1.
