The invention relates to a device for hot-dip coating a metal bar (1), particularly a steel strip, in which the metal bar (1) is vertically directed through a container (3) receiving the molten coating metal (2) and a directing channel (4) that is arranged upstream thereof. Said device comprises at least two inductors (5) which are disposed on both sides of the metal bar (1) in the zone of the directing channel (4) and generate an electromagnetic field for retaining the coating metal (2) within the container (3). In order to better control the coating process, the inventive device is characterized by a sealing means (7, 7') which is arranged above the directing channel (4) in the bottom area (6) of the container (3) and alternatively releases or interrupts the flow of molten coating metal (2) to the metal bar (1) and/or the directing channel (4).
L'invention concerne un dispositif pour revêtir une barre métallique (1), notamment une barre d'acier, par immersion à chaud. Dans ce dispositif, la barre métallique (1) est guidée verticalement à travers un contenant (3), dans lequel se trouve le métal de revêtement (2) fondu, et à travers un canal de guidage (4) placé en amont. Ce dispositif présente au moins deux inducteurs (5) placés des deux côtés de la barre métallique (1) dans la région du canal de guidage (4), lesdits inducteurs servant à produire un champ électromagnétique qui retient le métal de revêtement (2) dans le contenant (3). L'objectif de l'invention est d'améliorer la commande du processus de revêtement. A cet effet, ledit dispositif est caractérisé par un moyen d'obturation (7, 7') placé au-dessus du canal de guidage (4) dans la région du fond (6) du contenant (3), ledit moyen d'obturation servant soit à permettre soit à interrompre l'écoulement de métal de revêtement (2) fondu vers la barre métallique (1) et/ou vers le canal de guidage (4).
