In a device for identifying the switched position of electrical switch gear, in which the switched position is identified by the interaction of a reflective element (15) that is connected to the kinematic train of the switch gear with a beam of light (13), the present invention makes provision such that the reflective element (15) is formed as a reflective surface (10, 11, 12) that is produced by stamping the surface of a metallic component (4) of the switch gear.
