An optical beam path directing system has a field-flattening optically transmissive wedge installed in spatially dispersed beam paths upstream of the planar surface of a micro electro-mechanical switch (MEMS) or liquid crystal array. The parameters of the field-flattening wedge and its location in the diffracted beam paths are defined such that the wedge effectively rotates a 'best fit' planar surface approximation of the curvilinear focal plane of a concave reflector into coplanar coincidence with the optical signal-receiving surface of the MEMS. As a result, loss variation is essentially flat and minimized across the optical signal transmission band.
Système d'orientation de projection d'un faisceau optique muni d'un prisme tranmissif optique à égalisation de champ, installé dans des chemins de faisceaux à dispersion spatiale, devant la surface à plan d'un microcommutateur électromécanique (MEMS) ou d'un réseau de cristaux liquides. Les paramètres du prisme à égalisation de champ et son emplacement dans les chemins des faisceaux diffractés sont définis de façon à ce que le prisme exécute effectivement par rotation la meilleure approximation possible d'une surface planaire correspondant au plan focal curvilinéaire d'un réflecteur concave dans une coïncidence coplanaire avec la surface optique de réception de signaux du MEMS. Il en résulte une courbe d'écarts sur pertes essentiellement plate et minimisée à travers toute la bande de transmission des signaux optiques.
