This device (9) improves the combustion of a fuel by means of a gaseous oxidant and comprises a fuel intake (3), an oxidant intake (5) and means for keeping naphthalene in solid form in the gaseous oxidant intake to load it with naphthalene vapours as it flows towards the combustion chamber (2). The means for keeping the naphthalene in the gaseous oxidant current comprise at least a cartridge (11) filled with naphthalene and having apertures (13) forcing the oxidant gas to pass through it directly along a direction coinciding with that of the flow of the oxidant gas to the combustion chamber (2). This device is preferably located in the air filter (1) of an internal combustion engine (2) or in the air intake of a central heater burner.

Ce dispositif (9) améliore la combustion d'un carburant à l'aide d'un comburant gazeux et comporte une arrivée de combustible (3), une arrivée de comburant (5) et des moyens pour maintenir du naphtalène sous forme solide dans l'arrivée du comburant gazeux afin de le charger de vapeurs de naphtalène pendant qu'il circule vers le lieu de la combustion (2). Les moyens pour maintenir le naphtalène dans le courant de comburant gazeux comprennent au moins une cartouche (11) remplie de naphtalène et munie d'ouvertures (13) contraignant le gaz comburant à la traverser directement selon une direction qui coïncide avec la direction d'écoulement du gaz comburant vers le lieu de combustion (2). Ce dispositif est placé de préférence dans le filtre à air (1) d'un moteur à combustion interne (2) ou dans l'arrivée d'air d'un brûleur de chauffage central.
