The invention concerns a device for inserting/extracting channels on a two-way multichannel optical link (10) comprising one line optical fibre (1) carrying signals in two opposite directions (F, F'), on at least two channels of different wavelengths per direction of transmission. The device comprises two main circulators (21, 22), which are inserted on the line fibre (1) (two of their ports (211, 213; 221, 223) are linked to the line fibre, a third port (214; 224) is linked respectively to a first (6) and a second auxiliary optical fibre (7)), and which circulate the optical signals in a direction of rotation (S) such that the signals moving along the line fibre (1) in one of the directions of transmission (F) remain on the line fibre (1), and two other auxiliary circulators (23, 24), inserted on the first (6) and second (7) auxiliary fibres, respectively, (two of their ports (223, 234; 242, 244) are linked to each auxiliary fibre, their third ports (233; 243) are linked to one another by a bypass optical fibre (3), each of which circulates signals in the direction opposite to that of the main circulator to which it is directly linked by one of the auxiliary fibres. A diffraction grating (4), with a reflected wavelength (.lambda.i) corresponding to that of a channel to be extracted in the outgoing direction (F), is inserted on the line fibre (1) between the main circulators, and a diffraction grating (5), with a reflected wavelength (.lambda.i) corresponding to that of a channel to be extracted in the incoming direction (F'), is inserted in the bypass fibre (3) between the auxiliary circulators.
