The device for locking a suction nozzle of a separating sucker at a suction head of a sheet feeder of a sheet-processing machine relates to a suction head having vertical motion effected by means of suction air and resilience of a spring. The suction nozzle comprises a laterally arranged bearing support which, with said suction nozzle being in the lifted position, is held by a movably arranged abutment or counter-bearing until the trailing edge of a sheet supplied to the feeder has left the area of said suction nozzle of said separating sucker. The suction head comprises at least one forwarding sucker which, by means of a drive, is guided at said suction head so as to be movable forwards and backwards with the working cycle of the machine and approximately parallel to a sheet plane. The abutment is connected to move forwards and backwards by the forwarding-sucker drive and during a selected portion of this movement unlocks said suction head momentarily before returning it to a locked position.
