ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a device for locking a switch rail to a stock rail, the switch rail is held down on a supporting surface only when it its locked and unlocked positions. When the switch rail is in the locked position, it is acted upon by a resultant force that prevents both a rotation of the switch rail and also holds it down.
