A B S T R A C T A device for lubricating the tie rods in the die closing unit of an injection molding machine, consisting of a tubular shell which forms an annular chamber around the tie rod and a lubricant absorbing fleece body occupying said chamber, the shell being constituted by two identical half shells which are joined along longitudinal edges provided with matching flexible tongue-and-groove formations, for the forcible radial snap assembly between shell-straddling wall portions of the guided part of the die closing unit.
