A small football or soccer ball shaped container (12) for lubricating an external longitudinal surface of an inflation needle (36) is provided with a cord wearable around the neck of a user. The container has an opening (14) at an upper end for passage (35) therethrough of at least a portion of an inflation needle; and a closure means (32) or grommet (24) with circular rubber sheet (32) moveable from a closed position which at least partially prevents passage of liquid or solid lubricant or lubricating particles such as silicone through the opening. The closure means in the open position allows equilibration of gas pressure within the container with external gas pressure. Another embodiment is an inflation needle storage device comprising a body forming a passage and having resiliently flexible retaining means to resiliently deform upon insertion of the needle into the passage.

Le contenant présente un orifice (14), à une extrémité supérieure, pour permettre l'introduction (35) d'au moins une partie d'un pointeau de gonflage; et un mécanisme de fermeture (32) ou anneau (24) muni d'une pièce de caoutchouc circulaire (32) pouvant être déplacée d'une position de fermeture dans laquelle le passage d'un lubrifiant liquide ou solide ou de particules de lubrification, telles que le silicone, par l'orifice est au moins partiellement empêché. Dans la position d'ouverture, le mécanisme de fermeture permet d'équilibrer la pression du gaz à l'intérieur du contenant par rapport à la pression du gaz à l'extérieur.
