The invention relates to a device (1) for permanently maintaining the altitude of a payload having an altitude-maintenance energy source that is practically permanent and extracted from the surrounding medium. The device is cheap to build and to implement and requires minimum service while being capable of accommodating a payload of the same size order as traditional satellites or ground-based devices. The device is characterised in that it comprises at least two gliding bodies (2, 3) connected together by at least one physical link (4) and located, during use, at different altitudes relative to the ground, at which the instantaneous winds have practically permanently different characteristics, and in that it comprises a control system of the respective attitudes of said two bodies.
La présente invention a pour objet un dispositif (1) de maintien permanent en altitude d'une charge utile dont la source d'énergie de maintien en altitude est pratiquement permanente et extraite du milieu. Ce dispositif est peu onéreux à réaliser et à lancer et nécessite un entretien minimal tout en pouvant emporter une charge utile du même ordre de grandeur que celle des satellites classiques ou des dispositifs localisés au sol. Ce dispositif est caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte au moins deux corps planants (2,3) reliés entre eux par au moins une liaison matérielle (4) et se trouvant, en utilisation, à des altitudes différentes par rapport au sol et pour lesquelles les vents instantanés ont, pratiquement en permanence, des caractéristiques
