The device that is used to measure the switching force in railway points (railroad switches) incorporates a measuring bolt that can be inserted into a joint in the point drive. At the unattached end of the measuring bolt there is a head in which an electro-mechanical sensor is arranged. The precise adjustment of the measuring bolt within the joint is effected by using a spacer, which simplifies the removal of the measuring bolt once the measurements have been made.
