ABSTRACT A device is described for stocking flat workpieces, particularly blanks for foldable boxes. The workpieces are fed through the apparatus as a series of side-by-side streams. A stream braking and separating mechanism separates a leading section of each stream and brakes the remainder of each stream. This is followed by a reject mechanism for remaining flawed work- pieces. After passing the reject mechanism, the workpieces in each stream are stacked, and the stacks are fed to an orientation and transfer device which stands the stacks on edge and feeds them intermittently to a batching device where multiple-stack batches of workpieces are formed.
