ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device for positioning the cutting edges of circular blade pairs of a slitter for webs of paper or similar, with blade slides supporting the blades and with rails extending transverse to the machine direction and supporting the blade slides, additionally with a stationary mark. At least one sensor is provided that can be moved parallel to the track of the blade slide and serves to capture the distances between the cutting edges of the circular blades and the stationary mark.
