ABSTRACT A device for the production of earth improving substance from organic waste. The device comprises a receptacle divided in two sections. An upper section is detachably mounted on the lower section and serves the purpose of a lid for the last mentioned section. A lower section in addition comprises an inclining bottom portion and a horizontal or nearly horizontal bottom por- tion and further supply ducts for air. The ducts communicate with the interior of the sections via openings and air exhaust ducts. At least part of the bottom has the form of a staircase with oblique steps and holes or slits arranged between adjacent steps, the steps being so arranged as to prevent waste material from falling down into the air supply channel. This device is less expensive and lends itself to smaller dimensions than known devices and as well allows nearly complete mouldering of the waste material.
