The invention relates to a device for preventing gases and/or fluids emanating from a wing box 2 of an aircraft from passing to an aircraft fuselage cell situated underneath it. According to the invention the device comprises at least one sheet-like material 13 positioned below or above the wing box 2. The sheet-like material 13 is preferably made of a woven fabric comprising aramid fibers or the like, which fabric in order to ensure the required seal vis-a-vis liquid and/or gaseous substances, in particular vis-a-vis fuels, has been impregnated or soaked with an epichlorohydrin elastomer compound or with some other elastomer, for example a rubber compound or the like. As a result of the design-related slidability of the sheet-like material 13 parallel to the longitudinal axis of the fuselage cell of the aircraft, during installation the possibility of compensating for tolerances in this direction is provided. Furthermore, as a result of the regularly undulating structure of the sheet-like material 13 an alignment option during installation, and, furthermore, compensation for any movement during operation is provided. Furthermore, the slightly undulating surface geometry of the sheet-like material 13 makes it possible to achieve fast and uniform dissipation of liquids collected over the surface extension of the sheet-like material 13 by means of several drainage connections, each preferably arranged in an undulation trough 32, by way of a hose line system 51 connected to said drainage connections.
