The invention concerns a device for protecting a photovoltaic module (10) against hot spots, comprising: a branch diode (20) of the photovoltaic module, means (36, 40) for detecting at least an operating characteristic of the photovoltaic module, and means (22, 34) for isolating the photovoltaic module (10) from the chain in response to detection of an anomalous operating characteristic.
