26553-31 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device for providing a clamping joint comprises an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve with complementary threads, such threads each having a flank constituting a clamping surface. Clamping takes place upon relative axial displacement of the elements, creating a wedging action. Relative rotation of the sleeves may occur. Sleeves anti-rotation means are provided to prevent such relative rotation from occurring beyond a predetermined point. The axial displacement can be brought about by screws arranged axially in bores in a flange on one element. In order to prevent accidental disengagement of the elements, at least one of the threads adjoins at one end to a part which is wedged against an opposing thread flank when the elements are rotated in relation to each other over a predetermined end position.
