DEVICE FOR REDUCING THE NOISE EMITTED BY THE TOOL-HOLDING SHAFT OF A PLANER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device for reducing the noise emitted by the tool-holding shaft of a planer. The toll bit has a outting edge projecting from the rotary surface of the shaft. Ahead of each tool bit with respect to the shaft direction of rotation there is arranged a deflector member for deflecting the air flow over the tool bit. The free edge of the deflector member is located at a distance form the rotation axis of the shaft which is smaller than that of the cutting edge of the tool bit. - 1 -
