DEVICE FOR REMOVING EXTERNAL CIRCULAR FINS FROM PIPE JOINTS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The herein-proposed device comprises a base, a hollow rotor with a faceplate, mounted in the base, carriages loca- ted on the rotor faceplate, a mechanism for radial traverse of the carriages, having a holder rotatably fitted on the rotor, and a drive for the rotor and the mechanism for traversing the carriages, characterized in that each of the carriages is provided with a roller adapted to trace over the surface of the pipes being treated, while the mechanism for radial traverse of the carriages is composed of links with one of their ends articulated to the holder and with the other end, to slide blocks, each of the latter being housed in a boring of the respective carriage with a pos- sibility of radial movement therein and being connected to a spring gauged for the cut-ting force, the other end of which spring thrusts against the bottom of the carriage boring whereas the drive of the rotor and of the carriage traversing mechanism has two output shafts, of which one is kinematically associated with the rotor, while the other shaft, with the holder, which drive is provided with a me- chanism for program control of the difference between the rotational speeds of said shafts. The proposed device is adapted for removal of external circular fins left at the pipe joints after the resistance butt welding and ensures high productive efficiency and quality of machining, is capable of a uniform removal of fins round the entire pipe joint irrespective of whether the shape of the welded pipes is a true circle or departs therefrom, and enables fins of any cross-sectional shape left in the course of pipe welding, to be removed.
