DEVICE FOR REMOVING PAPER FIBER PARTICLES FROM SHEET FEEDING APPARATUS ABSTRACT A sheet feeding apparatus includes a means for removing fiber particles from the feeding apparatus which results from sheets being fed along a feed path at a high rate of speed. The feeding apparatus includes a feed deck, sheet feeding devices mounted thereon for feeding the sheets, and a plurality of brush elements spaced along the feed deck in position of contact the upper surface of sheets as they move along the feed deck. In the direction of movement, an upstream brush element loosens paper fiber particles from the sheets and a downstream brush element removes the fiber particles from the sheets. A blower device is adapted to maintain a stream of positive pressure air along the downstream brush element to remove paper fiber particles which accumulate on the brush element, in order to prevent any particles from being carried downstream beyond the aforementioned brush element.
