ABSTRACT A DEVICE FOR REMOVING THE SCRAP ENDS OF CYLINDERS OF PAPER WHICH HAVE BEEN CUT INTO ROLLS OF TOILET PAPER OR THE LIKE. In order to remove the trimmings or scrap portions of cylinders of paper wound on cores, when cut into rolls of toilet paper or towels or the like, the rolls, during their advance, are carried by a bearing guide on one side, whereas at the other side they bear against lugs which move with the rolls. Preferably no lug is present adjacent the trimmings so that the trimmings fall from the guide.
