A device for roping down a load with a cable, the device includes a housing and a centrifugal brake assembly mounted within the housing. A shaft is mechanically coupled to the brake assembly. A pulley is provided for rotatably contacting the cable so that the rotational speed of the pulley substantially correlates with the longitudinal movement of the cable, the pulley is mechanically coupled to an outer segment of the shaft. The brake assembly includes an annular braking ring mounted within the housing defining a ring braking surface. A braking actuator is rotatably mounted inside the braking ring for rotation about a rotation axis. The braking actuator has three actuator arms extending outwardly. Three braking components each having a radially outwardly located braking surface are also provided. The braking components are mounted inside the braking ring for contacting a corresponding arm contacting surface and sliding therealong. The braking components are configured, sized and positioned so that upon rotation of the pulley, the rotation is transmitted via the shaft to the braking actuator and via the braking arms to the braking components. The rotation of the braking components generates a centrifugal force acting thereon for moving them radially outwardly until biasing their corresponding braking surfaces against the ring braking surface so as to generate a frictional braking force.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif de descente de charge en rappel avec un câble, comprenant un carter équipé d'un frein centrifuge mécaniquement couplé à un arbre. Une poulie touche en rotation le câble de façon que la vitesse de rotation de la poulie soit sensiblement en corrélation avec le déplacement longitudinal du câble, la poulie étant mécaniquement couplée à un segment extérieur de l'arbre. Le frein comporte une bague de freinage annulaire montée à l'intérieur du logement définissant une surface de freinage de la bague. Un actionneur de freinage est monté rotatif à l'intérieur de la bague de freinage, capable de rotation autour d'un axe. Cet actionneur comporte trois bras en étoile. Le dispositif comporte également trois éléments de freinage présentant chacun une surface de freinage tournée vers l'extérieur. Ces éléments sont montés à l'intérieur de la bague de freinage de façon à toucher une surface de contact de bras correspondante et à y glisser. Les éléments de freinage sont configurés, calibrés et disposés de façon qu'avec la rotation de la poulie, cette rotation se transmette via l'arbre à l'actionneur de freinage, et via les bras de freinage aux éléments de freinage. La rotation des éléments de freinage produit sur eux une force centrifuge qui leur provoque un déplacement radial centrifuge jusqu'à appliquer les surfaces de freinage correspondantes contre la surface de freinage de la bague de façon à produire une force de freinage par friction.
