Abstract In the probe rotating and supporting device 11 in accordance with the present invention, the plug 10 of a temperature probe 7 is held by at least four contact portions 24 of resilient contact pieces 25, and the incli- nation of the plug 10 during rotation is restrained by the inter surface of a sleeve 30. One of the metallic members contacted with each other is made of a soft and conductive material, such as copper, impregnated with vegetable oil. The contact portions are not damaged to assure a smooth rotation of the plug 10. While the contact portions 24 holding the plug 10 are contacted with the plug 10 under rotation, electric signals which are stable at all times, are taken out. Against contamination and dew condensation of vapor, oil or food stock from an article to be heated 6, there are disposed a vapor hole 36 in the top plate of the probe rotating and supporting device 11, and a heat conductive plate 38 or a dew condensation member 39, thus eliminating malfunction to improve reliability.
