The invention concerns a device comprising a tubular sheath associated with a so-called dilator tube for setting a catheter inside a vein after the device has been inserted by Seldinger method, said sheath having a cylindrical running portion (11) and over its whole length an elastic slot (12), said sheath being slipped on a tube which has a cylindrical running portion (14) and whereof the distal end (16) is tapered, said device having the following characteristics: the tube distal end is connected to the tube running portion by a shoulder (17) projecting on said running portion; the sheath cylindrical running portion (14) ends is a distal edge (18) flared frontwards; the tube shoulder (17) matches the sheath edge (18).

Dispositif comportant une gaine tubulaire associée à un tube dit dilatateur, pour la mise en place dans une veine d'un tube cathéter après introduction du dispositif par la méthode de Seldinger, ladite gaine présentant une partie courante cylindrique (11) et présentant sur toute sa longueur une fente élastique (12), cette gaine étant enfilée sur un tube qui présente une partie courante cylindrique (14) et dont l'extrémité distale (16) est effilée, ce dispositif présentant les particularités suivantes: l'extrémité distale du tube est raccordée à la partie courante du tube par un épaulement (17) en saillie sur cette partie courante; la partie courante cylindrique (14) de la gaine aboutit à une tranche distale (18) qui est évasée vers l'avant; l'épaulement (17) du tube épouse la tranche (18) de la gaine.
