A postage meter machine having a stator part and a print rotor. The motors, a drive, a motor switch, a battery, a logic unit, a clock module, and two position indicators are disposed in the stator part. A catch-stop actuator, a catch-stop row sequence with three catch stops of different length as well as a date stamp with four counter wheels and coordinated stop-catch device are disposed in the print rotor. The counter wheels are disposed coaxially next to each other and each exhibits twelve print positions, which are rotatable stepwise by the catch-stop row sequence. Based on the kind of teeth and the length of the cams, either only one counter wheel or two counter wheels or all three counter wheels are rotated simultaneously by one position in case of one catch-stop row sequence step. A coupler connects one motor to the catch-stop actuataor in a certain angular setting of the print rotor. The logic unit, initiated by the clock module, controls such motor. Depending on the date set in each case, this motor runs for such a time until the catch- stop row sequence has performed one, three, twelve, thirteen, sixteen, or seventeen steps. In each case, the respective subsequent setting of the day is achieved.
