ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device for severing meat from bone by pressing the mass of meat and bone within a press cavity into which said mass of meat and bones is introduced via an upwardly directed supply connection and from which the remaining bones and meat residues are removed via a closable discharge opening, in which device the press cavity is, between the discharge opening and the supply connection provided with slit-shaped outlet openings, delimited of group of rings, for the meat, is, according to the invention improved in that the cylindrical press cavity is delimited by a plurality of rings of mutually equal shape and size and is on both of its ends closed by axially shiftable pistons and in that one of these pistons is, during its retracting movement giving free the discharge opening leading in downward direction and transversely relative to the axis of the press cavity, The operation of this device essentially consists in that the mass of meat and bones is introduced into the press cavity from the supply connection by one of both pistons and is then compressed between both pistons, so that the pasty meat emerges the slits between the rings , and in that finally both pistons are, after having terminated the pressing operation, simultaneously moved in the same direction, whereby the remaining press good is shifted by the first mentioned piston in longitudinal direction of the press cavity and out therefrom through the discharge opening to the discharge path.
