A device for shaping portions of dough comprises a drum which rotates about a horizontal axis and which is provided at its periphery with alternating receiving apertures of two different sizes for the dough. In each aperture, a plunger is guided in the radial direction of the drum; a restrictive guidance system is provided for the purpose of regulating the plunger. A shift mechanism allows only one of the two apertures sizes to be aligned with the shaping device at anyone time; the device is therefore common to all aperture sizes. This allows for a wider range of weight of the dough portions to be shaped.
