Abstract Apparatus for the chip-removing processing of logs for the production of sideboards and/or wood chips enploys tools designed as circular saws and/or knife heads which have cutting edges distributed on the circumference. Two tools are arranged with rotary axes parallel to each other and driven in opposite rotation senses. The flight circles of the two tools overlap each other and the cutting edges enter without touching into the gaps of the respective other tool. The two tools are driven in forced synchronism.
