A drive screw having an axial bore is disposed within a tubular container. A cap for closing the container has mounted therefrom an applicator that is insertable in the bore of the drive screw. A first seal and a second seal, on the drive screw, form with the inner wall of the container and the outer wall of the drive screw an annular compartment for housing a cosmetic composition. A normally closed channel is provided between the compartment and the bore of the drive screw. A drive on the cap and a complementary drive on the drive screw cooperate with the first seal and the second seal to decrease the volume of the compartment in which the composition is housed each time the container is opened by removing the cap. A valve opens the channel in response to the decrease in volume in the compartment when the cap is removed so as to permit composition to flow through the channel into the bore of the drive screw to contact the applicator.
Une vis d'entraînement présentant un alésage axial est disposée dans un contenant tubulaire. Un capuchon pour la fermeture du contenant est surmonté d'un applicateur qui est insérable dans l'alésage de la vis d'entraînement. Un premier joint et un deuxième joint, sur la vis d'entraînement, forment avec la paroi interne du contenant et la paroi externe de la vis d'entraînement un compartiment annulaire pour recevoir une composition cosmétique. Un canal normalement fermé est prévu entre le compartiment et l'alésage de la vis d'entraînement. Une prise sur le capuchon et une prise complémentaire sur la vis d'entraînement coopèrent avec le premier joint et le deuxième joint pour diminuer le volume du compartiment dans lequel est contenue la composition chaque fois que le contenant est ouvert par le retrait du capuchon. Une soupape ouvre le canal en réponse à la réduction de volume dans le compartiment lors du retrait du capuchon afin de permettre l'écoulement de la composition à travers le canal dans l'alésage de la vis d'entraînement pour entrer en contact avec l'applicateur.
