Abstract of the Disclosure Disclosed is a device for synchronizing the speeds of two webs of material, the first of which moves at a constant speed and the second of which moves at an adjustable speed. A counter, adapted to be triggered in accordance with the speed of the second web of material is coordinated therewith, the counter being adapted to be started and stopped by at least one pair of markers adapted to rotate with a reel from which the second web of material is with- drawn. The device permits synchronization to be speedily achieved. A first counter is set at a value (L) registered at the time of stopping and the counter is re-started whenever the value (L) is reached A further counter, adapted to be triggered in accordance with the constant speed of the first web of material, is started and stopped by the first counter when the registered value (L) has been reached which provides a measurement of the deviation from synchronization of the speed of the second web of material.
