ABSTRACT A device is provided for the destruction of microfils and the like; the device has at least two cutting edges adapted to move, in relation to each other, along a common path of relative movement, until complete mutual cutting engagement is achieved, each of the cutting edges including, at each point along the length thereof, an angle with the direction of relative movement, characterized in that a suction device is present on the side thereof lying beyond the cutting location, as seen in the direction of feed of the material to be cut up, the suction device is suitably in the form of a suction blower, that is preferably arranged below the cutting location.
