The invention relates to a device for the implantation of occlusion coils in body cavities or blood vessels using a catheter, an occlusion coil which may be displaced in the longitudinal direction in the catheter and at least one securing means embodied as a long flexible element, fixed in the occlusion coil which traverses the length of the occlusion coil at least in a partial region thereof. The above is characterised in that the securing means contains a material with shape memory properties.
