In a post-mix beverage dispenser system including beverage concentrate containers and a storage tank for the supply of diluent through an electromagnetically actuated valve, the beverage concentrate is provided to the mixing station in a series of individual portions by a reciprocating piston pump coupled to the containers for the beverage concentrate. An electromechanical control circuit is provided for rhythmically opening and closing the electromagnetic valve for the supply of diluent in synchronism with the reciprocation of the piston pumps. The piston pumps may be driven from a common drive shaft rotated by an electric motor in forward or reverse directions. Free- wheeling clutches are provided in order to selectively couple one of two hollow concentric shafts with respect to the drive shaft in order to selectively drive cam and lever arrangements which are operatively associated with a pair of piston pumps and associated beverage concentrate containers.
