ABSTRACT/ The pipe that is to be produced consists of a wear- resistant inner pipe (1) and a rugged, shock-proof outer pipe. The inner pipe (1) is prefabricated. The outer pipe is formed from a previously rounded starting sheet that is bent about the inner pipe (1) and welded along its long edges (3). The shaping of the outer pipe about the inner pipe (1) is done with the help of tools (4) that are pressed against the starting sheet (2). The elements of the tools are applied directly to the starting sheet on at least three lines (5) that extend the length of the pipe and are distributed around its circumference. Pressure is applied to the starting sheet (2) through the elements of the tools (4) vertically or parallel to the gap defined between the long edges (3) of the starting sheet (2) that is applied about the inner pipe (1).
