ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The device is intended for the thermal spraying of build- up welding materials and comprises a jet focussing nozzle including a burner nozzle (5) and a nozzle holder (6) having a nozzle (5), respectively, disposed therein on the feed-in side in a manner axially displaceable, and including means for the controlled supply of the operating components. In order that, in such devices, a comparatively complex electrical ignition procedure can be foregone and the ignition be performed in conventional and simple manner with no risk of explosion, the device is so configured that the focussing nozzle (7), in the area of the feed-in-sided end (1') is divided transverse of the of the longitudinal axis (8) of the nozzle, and the front part (9) of the nozzle, with the jet focussing channel (3) thereof, relative to the other part (10) disposed on the nozzle (5) and the nozzle holder (6), respectively, is adjustably disposed by clearing the nozzle (5).
