ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device is provided for the transmission of solar energy through a liquid medium, the device comprising a heat exchanger mounted in a flat-bottomed box under a light-perme- able covering and being insulated. The heat exchanger is a plate-like flat hollow piece of a plastics material provided with flow channels for the liquid heat transmission medium. The flow channels have a diameter of between 5 to 25 mm and a distance from each other of between 2 to 30 mm.
