The invention relates to a device (10) for UV irradiation, each UV module (14) being designed as an immersible radiator and being in each case formed by a round UV radiator (26) which is designed as a mercury low-pressure radiator and is enclosed by a sleeve tube (28) which is transparent to UV rays, each UV module (14) being assigned an irradiation space (24) having a square cross section, the centre of which is also the centre (18) of the UV radiator (26) and which in each case extends from the centre (18) half-way to the neighbouring UV modules (14), the centres (18) of four neighbouring UV modules (14) forming the corners of a square (20), the area of which corresponds to the sum of the crosssectional area (Fl) of a UV module (14) and the crosssectional area (F2) of the irradiation space (2-4) of a UV module, and in that [sic] the spacing of the UV modules (14) from one another is selected in such a way that the cross- sectional area (F2) of the irradiation space (24) of each UV module (14) is no more than 10 times greater than the cross-sectional area (F1) of the UV module (14) itself.

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'exposition aux rayons ultraviolets (10), dont chaque module UV (14) se présente sous la forme d'une source de rayonnement immergée, constituée d'une lampe UV ronde (26), se présentant sous la forme d'une lampe à mercure à basse pression, entourée d'une gaine ronde (28) perméable aux UV. Une zone d'exposition aux rayonnements (24) de section carrée, dont le centre est également le centre (18) de la lampe UV et qui s'étend du centre (18) de cette lampe UV jusqu'à la moitié de la distance séparant des modules UV adjacents (14), est affectée à chaque module UV (14). Les centres (18) de quatre modules UV adjacents (14) forment les angles d'un carré (20) dont la surface correspond à la somme de la surface (F1) de la section d'un module UV (14) et de la surface (F2) de la section de la zone d'exposition aux rayonnements (24) d'un module UV. La distance entre les modules UV (14) est sélectionnée de sorte que la surface (F2) de la section de la zone d'exposition aux rayonnements (24) de chaque module UV (14) ne soit pas supérieure à 10 fois la surface (F1) de la section du module UV (14) lui-même.
