A device for tilting the top end and/or bottom end of a bed, including two hingedly connected frames and a control unit operably connected thereto for adjusting the spacing therebetween, wherein one, fixed frame is supported on the bed base while the other, movable frame supports one end of a mattress. The fixed frame comprises two parallel coplanar tubes (109) and the movable frame consists of a U-shaped frame (105) pivotably mounted on and between said tubes (109). Said control unit is attached to the fixed frame and controls the longitudinal translation of slide blocks (110) by means of worm screws (111), said blocks being slidable along said tubes (109) to tilt the movable frame relative to the fixed frame. The worm screws (111) are mounted in said two tubes (109) and the control unit is located outside the area encompassed by the fixed frame.

Dispositif d'inclinaison de tête et/ou de pied de lit, comprenant deux châssis articulés l'un sur l'autre et un moyen de commande intervenant entre lesdits châssis pour régler leur écartement relatif, un châssis dit dormant étant destiné à reposer sur un sommier et un châssis dit mobile étant destiné à supporter une extrémité d'un matelas, le châssis dormant comportant deux tubes (109) s'étendant parallèlement dans un même plan et le châssis mobile étant constitué d'un cadre (105) en U monté pivotant sur et entre lesdits tubes (109), ledit moyen de commande étant attaché au châssis dormant et adapté à commander, par l'intermédiaire de vis sans fin (111), la translation longitudinale de sabots (110) montés coulissant le long desdits tubes (109), et dont le déplacement commande l'inclinaison du châssis mobile par rapport au châssis dormant; les vis sans fin (111) sont logées dans lesdits deux tubes (109) et le moyen de commande est situé à l'extérieur de l'aire embrassée par le châssis dormant.
