ABSTRACT A device for the centrifugal separation of a liquid having at least two components is disclosed. The device comprises a separator tube, and a separator element having a specific gravity between those of the components to be separated. The separator tube is formed of plastics material and the separator element comprises a cylindrical member which has an external diameter effectively equal to the internal diameter of the tube and which is movable into the tube under sliding friction with the inner face of the tube.
