ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Sectional overhead sliding door has each of the slots between the adjacent panel sections shaped such as to prevent passage of water from outside to the inside of the door, e.g. when the exterior is exposed to heavy rain or the like. The lower one of each pair of adjacent sections has a step-shaped upper edge disposed such that the lower step section is at the exterior, the higher step section being at the interior of the respective panel. The lower step section terminates at its inside extremity at an upwardly turned chute or lip which further assists in collecting water that may have been left on the lower step section, to prevent passage of such water towards the interior surface of the respective panel when the respective panel is in a horizontal overhead position on opening of the door. The advance in the art is in an improved resistance of the door against water penetration, e.g. during heavy rains, through the slots between the panels.
