A B S T R A C T The invention relates to a device suitable for installation on a tripped end portion of a cable comprising an inner conductor and an outer conductor electrically insulated from each other by a dielectric, particularly a coaxial cable. The device comprises an electrically conductive body for electrical connection to the outer conductor of the cable and at least on electrically conductive tab for contacting the dielectrio of the cable, the tab being mechanically joined to the body along a line generally parallel to the direction in which the said stripped end portion extends when the device is installed thereon, being electrically connected to the body, and projecting towards the interior of the body. The body of the device may be provided with a plurality of electrically con- ductive legs for insertion in holes in a printed circuit board. The invention also relates to an assembly which comprises a cable comprising first and second electrical conductors electrically insulated from each other by a dielectric, and a connecting device comprising an electrically conductive body and at least one electrically conductive tab electrically connected and mechanically joined to the body, the tab contacting the cable dielectric and the first cable conductor being electrically connected to the body of the device. The assembly may also include an electrical component, particularly a printed circuit board, to which the cable is connected by the device.
